About Bill

Bill was born in the small village of Chislehurst in South-East London on the 16th March 1964. He went to school at St Dunstan’s College in Catford (London), before going on to study at Leeds University where he achieved a 1st Class degree in Biochemistry in 1985.

From there he joined the sales and marketing graduate program at Esso Petroleum, the UK subsidiary of the Exxon Mobil Corporation. His first job was as an Area Manager in the Industrial and Wholesale division where he sold diesel, gas oil, kerosene and other fuel products to a wide variety of commercial customers in the Manchester and North Wales region. Following this first assignment he moved to Head Office in Victoria Street, London to join the Corporate Planning group where he worked on projects for the Bitumen and Lubricants divisions.

In January 1990 he left Esso and moved back north to start UK Fuels a new fuel card company. This business would later become a central part of what is now Radius a global services business operating in more than 20 Countries across 5 Continents. Bill has won several national Entrepreneur awards and Radius has regularly featured in the Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 100 league table of largest private companies in the UK.

Bill now lives in south Manchester and is Executive Chairman of the group where he and his family are still majority shareholders.
